Taking a well-earned rest with our Wellbeing Day

We recently held our first post-pandemic ‘Wellbeing Day’ which gave us all chance to have some fun together, catch up and importantly recharge our batteries.

Our joint MD, Neil Craven, was an excellent host for the day, opening up his home and garden for the whole Harris team. The delicious, and very colourful food provided by independent Leeds-based caterer, Oula Creative Catering, kicked off proceedings, making sure everyone was ready for a fun afternoon of garden games including boules, giant Jenga and beer pong. Our collective competitive sides definitely came out, especially during a tense round of beer pong but thankfully we all stayed friends!

The success of the day relied on making sure everyone got a proper break from work so they could fully relax and enjoy everything we had planned. With this in mind we decided to close from 12 noon and informed our clients in advance that we’d be unavailable for the whole afternoon – although Neil and fellow joint MD Kirsty were on hand for any emergencies.

Kirsty said: “Staff mental health and wellbeing is something we’ve always taken seriously here at Harris. We feel it’s really important to be able to take time out and step back occasionally and the Wellbeing Day was the perfect opportunity to do just that as a team.

“Although we’re seeing more of each other now that we’re getting back into the office on a more regular basis, we still haven’t been together as a whole team in real life since the pandemic started in March 2020 and we do miss seeing each other. It was fantastic to have the team together in one place again and finally have the chance to celebrate our 35th anniversary and the MBO too!”
